An Important Vitamin Source: Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 is naturally produced by the body when exposed to direct sunlight, however, actual UV ray exposure and Vitamin D synthesis are dependent on many factors (e.g. seasons, location, time, age, smog, skin darkness).
Vitamin D occurs naturally in foods as Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol) and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), but it can also be provided in the form of supplements. It contributes to the normal function of the immune system and muscles, and also to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth, and to the normal absorption/utilization of calcium and phosphorus*.
